Designing closets is our specialty. To do an effective job requires a lot of thought and planning. Here is a quick list of 10 questions to begin the process of designing your closet:

1. Do you want a His and Hers division of space? (Be generous here!!!)
2. How many shoes do you own? (His? Hers?)
3. Roughly what portion of your clothes do you hang / fold?
4. Do you hang your pants by the cuff?
5. Of the hanging portion, what is the ratio of double hang /long hang?
6. In the double hang, do you want to jackets over shirts or shirts/jackets over folded pants?
7. Do you need a removable clothes hamper?
8. Do you need drawers? (It is more economical to use shelves and wicker baskets from Ikea, London Drugs or Superstore)
9. Do you want to have your closet to sit on the floor or hang on the wall? (Hanging on the wall is about 30% less expensive)
10. Do you really need a custom closet? (Ikea has a “do it yourself” unit based on a 50cm module for much cheaper or wire units are the cheapest)
